Amazing Architecture – Homes you might not believe!

August 25, 2008

There are certainly a fair amount of really interesting homes in the world and the Internet brings them to you in the blink of an eye!

It truly amazes me that there are skyscrapers dating from the 16th century, many between 5 and 9 stories high, that are made mostly of mud brick.  Where is this place you ask?  It is in Yemen and it is the town called Shibam also known as the Manhattan of the desert.

A more complete post is here along with more pictures: http://www.toxel.com/inspiration/2008/05/19/worlds-oldest-skyscrapers/

From old skyscrapers we travel to a place where modern architect’s are running crazy with a few homes that seem to be defying gravity itself! (http://www.oddee.com/item_96469.aspx)

As if that weren’t bad enough the next site we are going to visit shows work of some people who should have never been loose with a contractor’s license! (http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2008/05/drunk-builders-mad-architects.html)

This particular site his some of the funniest examples I have yet found!

Lastly tonight we have a story about a home in Brooklyn, New York built in what looks to be the width of a driveway! (http://orangecountyrealestatevoice.com/2008/04/09/the-most-amazing-home-ever/)

It actually has 1 bedroom and one bath and a usable backyard!  Amazing…..
