Green Resolutions for the New Year
January 4, 2009
We would all like to be greener in our everyday living and even possibly save some money, right? Well I have some tips to help you along the way toward your wish!
First I have a great article from the NRDC website (http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/pbull/your_2009_home_energy_makeover.html) that gives a good selection of tips to get started.
Next we have the news that water heaters have been added to the Energy Star program rounding out the set of appliances that are found in the average home. The article on SustainableBusiness.com (http://www.sustainablebusiness.com/index.cfm/go/news.display/id/17402) tells the story.
Excerpt: ” The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) yesterday announced the expansion of its Energy Star program to include residential water heaters. The program which rates the energy efficiency of appliances now addresses every major residential appliance found in most American homes.“
Lastly should you be considering the more difficult and more expensive options toward your goal it looks like there will be new rebates, tax credits and the like in 2009. There is an article to be found here on greenskeptic.blogspot.com (http://greenskeptic.blogspot.com/2009/01/if-you-can-afford-it-new-incentives-for.html) and a very comprehensive database of all of the current plans on a state by state basis on DSIREUSA.org (http://www.dsireusa.org/).
Good luck greening your life and a Happy New Year to you all!
As always I thank you for your time and interest. Please take the time to Digg, Stumble Upon or add to the other social network of your choice to help me spread the word about these issues. Please forward any questions or suggestions to: askthefm@gmail.com

BE GREEN ALL YOU WANT, CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT FOR THE BETTER, BUT DO US ONE FAVOR. DONT BLAME IT ON GLOBAL WARMING. WE THE GLOBAL TEAMS HAVE FOUND THE TRUE CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING, INFACT WE SHUT IT DOWN 28 DAYS OUT OF 60 DAYS AND MAN DOES’NT HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY THAT CREATED GLOBAL WARMING. THE RESULTS OF THE SHUT DOWN WAS ALL GLACIERS STOPPED MELTING OFF AND ON AND REFROZE AND ALL FRESHWATER ON TOP OF SALTWATER FROZE ALSO. WE FOUND THAT THE ROTATION OF EARTH IS ACTIVATING AND DEACTIVATING IT. GLOBAL COMMAND OF THE GLOBAL TEAMS. HAPPY NEW YEAR. MIKE
