ADA Amendments Act of 2008 passes the Senate! – Update

Back on June 25th of 2008 the House or Representatives passed the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. Finally after months of further wrangling in the Senate it has finally passed that body and is going on to the President’s desk for signature some time soon.

I wrote about it then (https://askthefm.wordpress.com/2008/06/28/the-ada-amendment-act-passes-hr-3195/) and at that time I had hoped it would pass in a few days as it had support from seemingly all sides even the US Chamber of Commerce which has traditionally opposed such modifications or additions.

They finally passed it on Sept. 11, 2008 and here is a write up on it from Civilrights.org: http://www.civilrights.org/library/features/024-senate-adaaa.html.  We really need to get the President to sign this as soon as possible so that the limbo surrounding the various interpretations of the original law are corrected as soon as possible!

As always I thank you for your time and interest. Please take the time to Digg, Stumble Upon or add to the other social network of your choice to help me spread the word about these issues. Please forward any questions or suggestions to: askthefm@gmail.com
