Solar Power Update for Jan. 22, 2009

Tonight I have found such a large number of stories on this topic that I am going to break them into 2 posts.  First we will deal with the new solar equipped gadgets and tomorrow with the other stories.

Gadgets are sometimes comedy relief as well as truly useful.  The first tonight is a device to help you deal we your pet’s waste. While this device is still in the concept stage I can tell you that kids everywhere are hoping for its eventual release! (http://www.ecofriend.org/entry/eco-gadgets-solar-powered-pet-waste-cleaner-aims-to-green-your-best-friend/) On the useful scale I can only imagine a 10 and it is green as it combines solar power along with a composting system to divert the waste from the landfills.

Next we have a good version of the solar powered walk way lights found on Ecofriend.org (http://www.ecofriend.org/entry/eco-gadgets-luceplan-s-sky-solar-powered-led-lighting-system/)

Now we come to the portable power generating section of our post. There are three stories about portable power generation going from samll to trailer sized.  For the small we have a story again on Ecofriend.org (http://www.ecofriend.org/entry/eco-diys-rejuvenate-your-sinking-battery-with-solar-power/) with a great option of adding your own solar panel to a small device like your cell phone to give you a longer battery life.

The next size up is luggaged sized and gos by the name of Everywhere Energy (http://www.ecofriend.org/entry/eco-gadgets-everywhere-energy-makes-sure-you-never-run-out-of-green-electricity/) and while still a concept it looks producible and very useful!

Lastly tonight we have a trailer sized solar power generating system (http://alternativemobilepower.com/) I can tell you that I want one. It can be configured for any number of uses including a mobile entertainment system, imagine the tailgate partying!

As always I thank you for your time and interest. Please take the time to Digg, Stumble Upon or add to the other social network of your choice to help me spread the word about these issues. Please forward any questions or suggestions to: askthefm@gmail.com
